Name: Sarah Ezrin

Practice with me at:

YogaWorks San Francisco: Fridays 1130a-1225p

Yoga Tree 6th Avenue: Tuesdays/Thursdays 4:45p-6p + Wednesdays/Fridays 9a-10:15a

How long I’ve been practicing yoga: 18 years.

How long I’ve been teaching yoga: 11 years.

What kind of yoga I teach: Vinyasa Flow with a lot of self-love.

My mantra these days: “I love you and I cannot wait to meet you”.  My husband and I are trying to have a baby and since we are still not totally sure we can have one of our own, I wanted to work with a mantra that opened up possibility to whatever child or child-like figure is coming our way.

A posture that has been resonating with me lately is: I’m on a mission to bring back Janu Sirsasana! It may not be as fancy as some of the more popular poses out there these days, but it’s so yummy and therapeutic!

How I like to practice yoga off the mat: Spending time with my husband our dog. Phones off, cuddled up together on our couch, and totally present in one another’s presence.

My sign: Aquarius.

The last book I read was: Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle. Powerful read, by a powerful woman!

Favorite local juice/tea spot: Nourish Cafe, all the way! It’s right across from Yoga Tree 6th Ave and the perfect after (or before) class treat!

Where I go for a nourishing meal: Jane on Fillmore is one of my favorite spots to eat in the city. It offers tons of selections of vegetarians and meat eaters alike and their dishes are very creative.

What’s on your yoga playlist right now: I like to play with diverse music in my classes, so we listen to anything from Helios, which is soft and dreamy, to Rey & Kjavik, which is a little more tribal, to Lady Gaga! You can find all my playlists on Spotify.

A ritual I love: My morning cup of PG Tips tea. My mum was English, so we take our tea very seriously! In the morning, no one else is awake and it offers me time to sit and be quiet, before I write.

What I am letting go of this year: Trying to control that which cannot be controlled (i.e. everything!)

What I am embracing this year: Trusting the process.
