Wanderlust Squaw Valley Is Next Month. Here’s What’s New And Why You Need To Buy Tickets Now!

By Rachel Nichols

Wanderlust Squaw Valley is magic -- and it’s actually celebrating its 11th birthday this year on July 18-21, 2019 in gorgeous Tahoe. I’ve attended the festival three times in the last few years and each year has offered new experiences that made the festival worth going back to.

This year Wanderlust is switching things up again by offering a new Immersions program -- a deep dive on the first day of the festival with the teacher of your choosing, either yoga, meditation or personal development. The featured Immersion teachers at Squaw this year will be Ana Forrest with Jose Calarco, Kyle Cease and Scott Schwenck.

I got super excited when I learned about these Immersions and that Kyle Cease would be leading one. I went to one of his Speakeasy talks at the festival last year and absolutely loved him. His talks last year made a huge impact on me and I actually still think about things he said when I am feeling stuck -- I even wrote about it here.

Here’s a sneak peek at the three Immersions happening at Wanderlust Squaw Valley this year:

Kyle Cease: Love is Rising, Everywhere

Kyle Cease is a keynote speaker and New York Times bestselling author, transforming audiences through his unique blend of comedy and transformation. This Immersion with Kyle is designed to help you anchor in this new vibration and allow love to transform every aspect of your life. The day will start with a few key questions—What is love? How do we cultivate it? How do we foster its growth, both within and in the people around us? We all start at the same place: where we are.

Scott Schwenk: Entering the Heart - Training in Freedom

Playfully referring to himself as a “meditation whisperer”, Scott’s classes are a blend of stillness, unexpected expansion, laughter, discovery and potent actionable insights for a awakening inner journey and a thriving outer life. Join Scott Schwenk for a full-day immersion, going deeper into embodying the true freedom at the heart of reality. Through progressive Tantric meditation, Ecstatic Breathwork, empowered Mantras and guided discussion, we will expand our capacity to skillfully flow through life connected with our essential energy resources.

Ana Forrest & Jose Calarco: Building the Warrior Heart

Join Ana Forrest and Jose Calarco for a deep dive workshop on opening up and healing. With Forrest Yoga’s heart-opening asanas, you learn to breathe in a way that opens your core and gives the heart the support and counsel of the rest of the primary charkas. Learn to remove the emotional shielding from your heart so it can truly and honestly feel each new experience afresh.

How To Find Your True North

As always, the schedule at Wanderlust is packed with amazing teachers, activities and classes -- all designed to help you Find Your True North. One of the things I am excited about this year are the Sound Healings. In the past, I jammed packed my schedule with all yoga classes so I could try as many teachers as possible, but always found that three classes a day was just too much movement for me. So I am loving the idea of adding other cool options into my schedule, like the Sound Healings and some Meditations this year.

Some teachers of note this year include Max Lugavere who is speaking on genius foods. His talk on Saturday is already full so be sure to add yourself to the waiting list! In addition, Elena Brower is dropping in for one class only and will lead a beautiful class while her friends Above and Beyond play. Definitely sign up for that ASAP as well!

Last year, I wrote an article for SF Yoga Mag, “Three Tips For Manifesting A Meaningful Wanderlust Festival Experience,” to preview the festival. I recommend checking out that article for more tips on how to make the most out of your experience at the festival! I took my own advice last year, and it turned out to be my most magical Wanderlust yet! I met who is now my wonderful partner of almost a year, quit my job of 13 years and made a big move -- and I have the magic at Wanderlust to thank for setting all those wheels in motion! Talk about Finding my True North (and learning to live like a butterfly -- what I learned from Kyle Cease last year)!

So I will see you there... for whatever new magic that will surely be manifested this year…
