3rd Annual YogaFEST In Gilroy, California

3rd Annual YogaFEST In Gilroy, California

Press Release From YogaFEST

YogaFEST, launched in Morgan Hill in 2015, returns for the 3rd successive year and is expanding out to Gilroy this year. The festival is happening November 12th from 9am - 5pm. The festival has been a grand success with over 2000 attendees of all ages and communities over the last two years. Playing an important role in increasing the wellness quotient within the community, the festival sparked a marked increase in yoga awareness in the community. This year's yoga festival returns with the theme of “One World Family," in an attempt to bring together various communities and cultures from around the world as one. The YogaFEST is a movement put together by the volunteers of The Art of Living Foundation, in an effort to make yoga and its benefits more accessible to those living in the Bay Area.

The Art of Living Foundation is a non-profit, educational and humanitarian organization operating in 152 countries, and founded in 1981 by the world-renowned philanthropist and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. All Art of Living programs are guided by Sri Sri’s philosophy: “Unless we have a stress-free mind and a violence-free society, we cannot achieve world peace,” and as such, attract people form all walks of life, backgrounds and religious orientations.

Yoga, Music, Food, Dance, Fun & More!

Attend sessions led by our expert teachers (Mariko HirakawaDarren Main and Kasia Fraser), enjoy the music (the headline band this year is Freddy Clarke & The Wobbly World), sample food from around the world, discover new aspects of yoga, try a guided meditation and relax in the sun.

While yoga today is known for its physical benefits, YogaFEST introduces the other, deeper benefits of this ancient practice. It is a collaboration of various schools of yoga, along with local businesses and supporters, to spread yoga consciousness in continuation of the global wellness movement towards healthy lifestyles and overall happiness. Yoga, ultimately, is a guide to unfolding the infinite potential of the human mind and soul.

And to give back this year, part of YogaFEST's proceeds will be used directly for Sonoma County Relief & Rehab efforts. They will also be doing a free trauma relief workshop in the area.

They are inviting local residents, businesses/vendors and organizations to come enjoy a truly happy day of yoga, meditation, music, food, dance and more!
